The Afternoon with a professional...

Sekolah Rendah Merangking held a 2-day [24.02.2009 - 25.02.2009] workshop regarding professional teaching and proper lesson planning. Invited speaker was Cikgu Ahmad Mas'ut bin Abdul Latif from the JKSS Department in the Belait District. It was held in Sekolah Rendah Merangking with invited neighbour Sekolah Rendah OKPB Bukit Sawat. A total of 22 teachers from both schools were involved in the workshop including respective headmasters.

Teachers were further elaborated on how to structure proper lesson plans especiallythe objectives in teaching a subject. We think most were caught off guard with ABCD Rules of Behavioral Objectives [bet most didn't know it existed in the first place!]

This is how our current lesson objective differ from the ABCD Rules:

Current:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
  • understand the multiplication of 5
  • complete the exrecises given
BUT with the ABCD Rules:
E.g: The soldier will be able to [A] climb the wall [B] with the aid of a rope [C] in 3 minutes [D]

A being the Audience, B being the Behaviour, C being Criteria and finally D being the Degree

Water rises *again!*

Our GB, Cikgu Jamal, with SR OKPB Bukit Sawat's GB, Cikgu Hj Kadri

These are some of the pictures taken today!! Water level had risen overnight!

Imagine what it'll be like in a few days if the rain doesn't stop?!!
Someone answered... with full exaggeration
"Laut kali eh"

Even the back of the school looks like we're growing a lake! If yesterday our teachers had to ride a truck to get across, well well well... today... we had to get ON A BOAT to cross over just to get to work! "Dedicated eh cikgu sana atu!" ^_^

When we got across, some staff were already waiting to drive us to school... while some prefer to choose the classic way of "Walk this Way"... Well... you get the idea!

Pure dedication
we tell you!

Banjir eh...!!!

Good morning all... Well, we had a hectic week due to the rain and slides that occur within the country. Not just the district is affected, we think, everyone's affected too in a way... Teachers experienced road collapsed along the way in Liang heading up to Kg Merangking... Small cars are advised not to go through the road...

Well, this morning [actually since yesterday!], teachers and staff had the privilege to ride on the ABDB's truck due to high tide along Sg Kago road.. Trust us when we say "Dalam aing nya!" Picture says a thousand words! But don't take our word for it!! :)

Inside the truck!

Waiting for a ride!

We rode dis to school!

This car is actually stuck on the side of the road VERY close to the river's edge!

The depth of the river! Alost reached the electricity pole!

We'll be giving you guys the updates as the day went along! Or probably the week through... :) A video will be posted soon.. :) Take care all!
